Good Afternoon FQMS Family:
AMAZING job to all the staff and students with our full hybrid return!  We are SO happy to have you back and so proud of you!  To our virtual students - thank you for your continued hard work - we appreciate all that you are doing and are proud of you also!   Thank you to all for finishing the Quarter strong - as a reminder, report cards will be available in Synergy on  the afternoon of 4/22.

PLEASE ensure that Hybrid students do the health check daily.  Do NOT, under any circumstances, send sick students to school.  If you have a question or concern - don’t hesitate to contact myself or Laura Smith (our nurse).

All family resources and bus information for Hybrid can be found here.

THANK YOU to Clarksville Youth Care Group for the lovely masks and ear protectors for teachers and staff.   We are so grateful for your kindness!

Great job to our student leaders and PTSA for their successful Casey Cares Pajama drive! We are so proud of their collaboration and hard work to help others!

  • FQMS/PTSA - Bottled Water Donations - We do encourage students to bring a refillable water bottle, however to make it very easy and not disruptive for students that forget- we are seeking additional donations of cases of water for classrooms.  They can be dropped off in the car rider line OR at the front vestibule anytime between 7:30 and 3:30!    Thank you so much for considering!
  • Please make sure you complete your Digital Education Center Survey (in HCPSS Connect) to indicate your interest or lack of interest in that program.
  • For car riders - please do not drop your students off before 7:40!  Thank you!

HCPSS Technology Help

Please see our website for technology help resources.

From the Math Team - We are aware of the concerns for students ending their current math course next month and/or students needing a refresher before they begin their math course in February.  A resource recommended by our HCPSS math office is the “Getting Ready for…” courses in Khan Academy.  If your child is getting ready to start a course, they should complete the “Getting Ready” for that course.  These lessons and activities will review their previous math course.

If your child will finish math in January and wants to maintain skills from February to August, they can complete the “Getting ready for” the next course over this time period. This should review and reinforce the skills just taught in their Semester 1 class.

Here is the progression of courses:

Math 6 -> Math 7-> Math 8 (6th gr GT Pre Algebra) -> Algebra 1 -> Geometry -> Algebra II

 To access the Getting Ready for … courses, use this link to the HCPSS Family Math Support Center and use the “Middle School Math” drop down menu.  For students finishing Geometry, links for getting ready for Algebra II are on the High School drop down.
