Happy Friday Folly Quarter Family,
We hope that you are well and enjoy a safe and restful holiday weekend!
Today we want to celebrate our AMAZING staff and students. As of today, our students have received 594 POSITIVE office referrals. We are so proud to be able to recognize students for hard work, effort, kindness, growth, and MUCH more.
We are also very grateful for our hardworking staff. Thank you to students and community - as of today - we received 507 Staff Shout Outs - thanking specific staff members for the impact they make for students and families. As a reminder - the form to submit can be found here.
Student Service Learning - It is imperative that your students attend homeroom on Wednesdays and complete the student service learning assignments. We work very hard to ensure that students get their service learning hours (required for high school graduation) while they are still with us - and students need to ensure all of their assignments are completed to get their hours this year. If you need support - please let us know. Our current projects are focused on supporting Grassroots Crisis intervention - our food drive boxes are outside the front office entrance daily!
8th Grade Families - As a reminder - please ensure you complete the Sign Up Genius from Mrs. Hulett for our in-person, outdoor, celebration of 8th graders on June 9 (rain date June 11). We are so excited to recognize and celebrate our students and families!
The tentative date for the virtual viewing party for the pre-recorded ceremony and student recognition is June 14th. Additional information is being shared soon!
Be Well - We greatly appreciate the support and partnership of our community!

From the Math Team - We are aware of the concerns for students ending their current math course next month and/or students needing a refresher before they begin their math course in February. A resource recommended by our HCPSS math office is the “Getting Ready for…” courses in Khan Academy. If your child is getting ready to start a course, they should complete the “Getting Ready” for that course. These lessons and activities will review their previous math course.
If your child will finish math in January and wants to maintain skills from February to August, they can complete the “Getting ready for” the next course over this time period. This should review and reinforce the skills just taught in their Semester 1 class.
Here is the progression of courses:
Math 6 -> Math 7-> Math 8 (6th gr GT Pre Algebra) -> Algebra 1 -> Geometry -> Algebra II
To access the Getting Ready for … courses, use this link to the HCPSS Family Math Support Center and use the “Middle School Math” drop down menu. For students finishing Geometry, links for getting ready for Algebra II are on the High School drop down.
