Folly Quarter News
Congratulations
Congratulations to Elena Brewer, FQMS Math Teacher, for being recognized as an Outstanding Educator for the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She was celebrated last evening at the MCTM awards ceremony. We are beyond excited to share this news with you as she impacts so many of our students everyday. We are proud to have Ms. Brewer as such a distinguished educator for our Folly Quarter students.
Each year the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) recognizes mathematics educators from around the state who exemplify excellence in mathematics education, are viewed as outstanding in their craft, and implement effective and research informed practices in their daily work with students, staff, and families. The Council announced the 2022 winners of MCTM’s Outstanding Mathematics Educator Awards, and we are incredibly proud of one of our very own HCPSS mathematics teachers and leader, Elena Brewer, who has been awarded in the Beginning Teacher Award. Elena was recognized along with other awardees at the MCTM Annual Banquet on Thursday, October 20th. Please join us in celebrating the excellent work of Elena Brewer.
