NEWS FROM FQMS

It’s Friday!  It looks like more winter weather ahead, so stay warm.  This week we took the leap  into third quarter and are now halfway through the school year.  As we continue to remind our students, please help us at home by reinforcing proper mask wearing,  arriving on time to school and class, and working hard on school work.  Winter can be a difficult time for students to stay focused.   We appreciate your partnership as we support our students to thrive during the second semester.
Upcoming Dates:
January 31: Report Cards Issued
February 1: Schools Closed for Students – Professional Learning Day
February 16:Schools close 3 hours early

Late to School - Since the beginning of the current school year, FQMS has seen a significant increase in tardiness to school.  The doors open for students at 7:25 am.  All students are expected to be in first period by 7:40 am. Please be sure to give yourself enough time each morning to ensure that your child makes it to school on time each day.

We appreciate your working with us to make sure all of our students can start their day with an orderly presentation of instruction devoid of unnecessary interruptions by students coming into class late, which often necessitates a repetition of instruction already given.

Beginning on Monday, January 31, 2022, we will be reemploying our tardy to school procedures:
4 tardies – 1st letter of contact about tardies
5 tardies – 2nd letter of contact or as determined by an administrator
6 tardies – Morning detention or as determined by an administrator
7 or more tardies – Restorative Reset as determined by an administrator

I'm certain that by working together, we can make the learning experience at Folly Quarter the very best it can be.  Thank you for partnering with us in this endeavor!

Katie Clark, Principal
