HOLIDAY GIVING TREE
Helping Hands would like to announce the start of their holiday collection for the Adopt A Family Giving Tree. Several Howard County families are being adopted by FQMS for the holiday season. This is a wonderful way to give to the community and help bring a little joy to a family who is experiencing hardship for the holiday season.
Here is the link to sign up to give. Any questions please contact Ms. Bader or Mrs. Hulett.
Orchestra Concert
We want to thank all families that came to support our amazing Orchestra students at their concert Tuesday evening at Marriotts Ridge High School. What an incredible performance by all of our students. We want to also recognize Dr. Walls for all of the work he does to prepare his students for such amazing performances.
Council of Elders
We celebrated over forty students on Monday evening at the Council of Elders celebration. These students were recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom. Thank you to our students and families that attended.
Folly International Showcase Night
FQMS is planning the Folly International Showcase Night for March 28. The community is asked to provide interest in planning and participation by clicking

Federal Impact Aid Forms due by December 12:
Only a few days remain for eligible parents/guardians to complete the Impact Aid section of Family File. Parents/guardians who work on a federal property in Maryland and/or are a member of a uniformed service qualify HCPSS to receive additional federal funding. The Federal Impact Aid programs provide financial assistance to school districts that enroll federally connected children. In HCPSS, Impact Aid supplements the operating budget to enhance the teaching and learning that takes place in Howard County classrooms.
In order to qualify for funding, parents who identified themselves in Family File as working on federal property in Maryland or as active duty military should log in via HCPSS Connect to complete the Impact Aid form by confirming the information and providing a digital signature before December 12. (See directions below). If you did not complete Family File this year and work on federal property in Maryland or are active duty military, please
log in and complete the Federal Impact Aid section of Family File prior to completing the Impact Aid form. If you submitted a form before September 30, it must be redone. In instances where families are federally connected both by work location and membership in the uniformed services, the digital signature only needs to be completed by one parent.
To complete your online Impact Aid form:
- Log in to HCPSS Connect using parent/guardian credentials
- Select More Options from the left navigation
- Select Federal Impact Aid from the middle

Magazine Donations
The art department is seeking magazine donations for collage. If you have any old magazines (doesn't matter how old) that you'd like us to take off your hands, please drop them off in the front office. Anything with images will work but National Geographic magazines are like gold for collage! We will be collecting them throughout the year so please bring them in any time. Don't forget to peel/tear off your address on the back. Thank you for your support!
Chromebooks - Please make sure your student's chromebook is in their backpack when they come to school. We do not have enough loaners for all the students who forget. Thank you.
