Dear Folly Quarter Community,

First I want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and the ones who serve the role as mothers in our Folly Quarter community. We know the parent role is so important in the learning process for our students and we wish you a relaxing weekend with family and friends.

On behalf of the Folly Quarter staff, I want to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the delicious food and snacks last week for Teacher and Staff Appreciation week…it was unbelievable. We are incredibly grateful for our PTSA and families. This was an incredible week. THANK YOU!

Thank you for sending us your best,

Mike Babe

Principal

Congratulations!

Congratulations to three of our 8th Grade students for winning First Place at the National History Day State Competition!  Riddhi M., Divya P., and Ava P. will now advance to the National Competition in June with their website detailing how WWII impacted the roles of women and their wardrobe moving forward.  Best of luck to them in their quest to win at the National level!

Counselor Corner

Each May we raise awareness about the importance of mental health and its impact on the well-being of all Americans, including children, adults, families, and communities across our Nation. Mental health is an incredibly important part of overall health. Did you know that Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the U.S. since 1949? Each year, during May, we fight the stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support people with mental illness and their families. To show your support,  wear something green on Friday,  May 17, 2024.

Spring Testing Dates

Parents/Guardians, below is a schedule of upcoming spring testing dates.  To avoid  disruptions on testing dates, please help to ensure your student arrives at school on time and please minimize early dismissals during these dates.

  • MCAP Math/all students - May 20 and 21

Students will need:

  • A fully-charged Chromebook and a charger (no personal laptops).
  • Plug-in headphones - wired headphones are required for testing.  To eliminate sharing school provided headphones/earbuds, we request students bring their own wired headphones/earbuds from home (must have a plug that works with the chromebook).

Please ensure your student gets a good night’s sleep the night before and receives a good breakfast on the days of the assessments.
