Absences - Absence notes must be received in writing from a parent/guardian within  5 days of an absence.  Please send all attendance correspondence to: fqmsabsence@hcpss.org

Late Arrivals - Students must be in first period by 7:40 am. Please make sure your child is accompanied into the building by either an adult or a note explaining the reason for the late arrival.

Early Dismissal - If you have to take your child out of school early, please email fqmsabsence@hcpss.org, send your child in with a note for the front office, or call in advance. You MUST present your driver’s license when you arrive.  A work ID is not valid.

This week marks National School Counseling Week.  We would like to recognize Emy Coonts and Emily Thaceu for all of their hard work with our students, families and staff.  We encourage you to send a note of thanks or praise to our amazing counselors.  This week is also about educating staff, students, and families about the extensive work school counselors provide to the community.  See more here.

After School Storytelling Club - Do you want to tell stories with friends or go on an epic quest while remaining seated? Join the story-telling club for an epic quest that takes you from foggy mountains to shady forests. Create a hero and collect epic treasures. Destroy evil and smite the dark,  but whatever you choose, hope that fate is on your side. Join us on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 pm! We meet in Room 8 (Mrs. Knight's room). 

Hearing & Vision Clinic - FQMS will be holding a vision and hearing clinic at FQMS on 2/15/22. All 8th grade students and students new to the state of Maryland that do not have a record of prior screening will be tested. Please see the attached letter for details.
