Shoe Drive! - FQMS 6th grade will be hosting a Shoe Drive for Soles 4 Souls, collecting gently used shoes. All the shoes from our drive will go into micro-enterprise programs in developing countries around the world. These programs serve as long-term opportunities to break the cycle of poverty for those in need. Collections Bins will be in the front lobby!
The shoe drive runs from 4/20/22 - 5/4/22 and anyone can donate to Soles 4 Souls. ALL styles, types and sizes of shoes are accepted, if they are gently worn! Mismatched shoes and single shoes are accepted too! **Pairs need to be tied together(either shoelaces or with a rubber band)**
FROM THE HEALTH ROOM - Students who exhibit COVID-like symptoms, may submit any of the following to show proof of a negative test and return to the building: negative PCR test result, negative rapid test result, or a negative *at-home test result.
*Parents - Negative at-home test result - A photo of the negative test, along with the student's full name, date of birth, and the date and time the test was taken should be emailed to the school nurse, who will follow up with parents/guardians as necessary. Send these results to Laura_Smith1@hcpss.org, the school nurse, prior to bringing your child to school. Please note that tests without this documentation will not be accepted. Thank you!
Gaming Tournament - Our Next Level Gaming Tournament is back for a rematch Thursday, April 28 from 4 pm to 6pm. Who will be the top gamer this month? Damaged Chromebooks - If a student has a damaged Chromebook, please have them bring the device to Mrs. Taylor in the media center. A repair request will be entered for the Chromebook. If the technology office finds the device has been damaged by the student and the family has a financial obligation, they will be notified by HCPSS. Most families will receive two emails. One will come from hcpss_notifications@hcpss.org alerting the family about the financial obligation. The second email will be an invoice sent from the My School Bucks website. Students will not be issued a replacement Chromebook until the invoice is paid.
Parents who have questions regarding the technical assessment are directed to contact DeviceDeployment@hcpss.org and if they have questions regarding the invoice, they can contact finance@hcpss.org. FQMS does not play a part in making decisions on these financial obligations or collecting payment.
