MCAP Math Assessment is coming up May 18–21

All students must bring a charged chromebook to school each day. They will take their MCAP math assessment in their math class. Please try to avoid absences, early dismissals, and late arrivals these days that may impact when your student takes their assessment.

Students will take the assessment during their regular math class period. Math teachers have been preparing students through class activities, "Do-Now", review, and MCAP-style practice questions. Please encourage your child to review their notes, try their best, and come to school rested and ready each day.

Students can also practice MCAP-style questions using the website below:

Counselor Corner

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to recognize the importance of emotional well-being for students and families alike. Thank you to everyone who wore green on Thursday to support Mental Health Awareness.

Middle school can be an exciting but challenging time as students balance academics, friendships, extracurricular activities, and personal growth. Parents and guardians play an important role in helping children build healthy habits and emotional resilience.

Here are a few ways families can support their middle schooler’s mental health:

  • Encourage open conversations: Create time each day to check in with your child. Listening without judgment helps students feel supported and understood.
  • Promote healthy routines: Consistent sleep, balanced meals, physical activity, and limited screen time can positively impact mood and focus.
  • Celebrate effort, not just achievement: Recognizing perseverance and growth helps students develop confidence and resilience.
  • Model stress-management strategies: Demonstrating healthy coping skills such as taking breaks, exercising, journaling, or practicing mindfulness teaches students how to manage challenges.
  • Watch for signs your child may need extra support: Changes in mood, withdrawal from activities, increased irritability, or difficulty concentrating may signal that a student is struggling.

Most importantly, remind your child that it is okay to ask for help. Reaching out to trusted adults, school counselors, teachers, or mental health professionals is a sign of strength.

Together, we can continue building a supportive school community where every student feels seen, valued, and cared for.
